RemindDroid

Dec 27th, 2011 | By fabian | Category: Android Apps, News

RemindDroid is a powerful, easy and fast reminder application for Android. It combines fast and simple operability with wide-ranging customization options.

Simple and clever.
To create a reminder, only two things need to be supplied: a subject and a date. That’s it. It could not be quicker.

And powerful.
This minimalist concept actually makes the handling very quick and easy, but at the same time, it limits the customizability a lot. It would be nice to have wide-ranging customization options, allowing you to customize the notifications how you like them. This is where RemindDroid is very special, because it allows you to build configuration sets, so called presets, which can be assigned to reminders. The application comes with a user-friendly and extensive preset editor, which allows you to design your custom notification styles from components like sounds, vibration patterns, speech synthesis and rests.
This saves time and gives you nearly unlimited customizability.

And even more powerful.
The overall concept is the common approach in science: find the most simple solution that solves as many problems as possible. This includes a very individual declaration of dates. Beside many input options (date, time, countdown, etc.) this application provides repeating events with a large number of optional options, including also the special case of a pill reminder. Apart from that, it is possible to add to each reminder as many dates as you want.

Required Permissions
SYSTEM TOOLS: AUTOMATICALLY START AT BOOT
After booting the device, all reminder events have to be re-scheduled to the alarm manager.
SYSTEM TOOLS: PREVENT DEVICE FROM SLEEPING
The application must be allowed to wake up the device when a reminder events occurs.
NETWORK COMMUNICATION
The internet access is exclusively used to provide advertisement banners.
At no time, personal (or any other) data are transferred!

    Hi,

I would like to help you out with the translation of RemindDroid in french ; feel free to contact me by e-mail, and I’ll be glad to help !

Hi, RemindDroid doesn’t make a sound when i use own preset , it only vibrates. When i use your presets, it works fine.

Hi! Great app so far, I would appreciate it if you could add the possibility that a reminder using a countdown somehow “remembers” the former countdown settings such that it could be reused whenever I reactivate the reminder again. This way, I could set reminder for tee (5 mins), the washing machine (1h45mins), … and do no have to setup the countdown over and over again. Would that be possible?

Hi there! Can you please make RemindDroid act like AlarmDroid such as when I flip the phone I can postpone or stop the alarm? Thanks.

Hi!. I hope I am not asking a stupid question, but if I am, well…, I have not yet tried the free version, because I am terribly security-minded. As you clearly state it, internet access is for the sole purpose of loading banners, which allow your app to be free.
If I were to install and afterwards, use the PRO key, will the code that enbles the app to connect to the internet be removed or just disabled?

If the answer is the latter, I would not buy your app.
Like I said, I’m that ticklish.
Who can garantee that the code could not be reactivated, without me knowing it.
That doesn’t mean that I can’t be fooled. I would say MOST of us could be fooled.

If you were to post a “no web access” ‘paid’ versión, (no conection code inside it), I would buy it.
Again, someone could rebutt me by saying, “you fool, no one can garantee that”. But at least I would like to think I can trust the app developer.
    I have a Samsung Ace S5830 phone,

    Thank you for time.
    Regards.

I have been using Alarm Droid for over a year now ( My phone is a Motorola Droid “X” MB810 ) and I love it; however, the last update included a bug which annoyingly switches the AM and PM when you are attempting to set the alarm. Regardless of which you choose (AM/PM,) after saving the alarm it switches to the opposite one that you chose. Due to this glitch, on more than a few occasions my alarm was set improperly, making me late and/or miss certain appointments/events. It has been glitched for at least a month now. I never write to any App designers and I have been patiently waiting for an update, but perhaps you are unaware of the issue. Thank you for your support.
